These guys are interesting. But I have not listened to their content as far as theological stuff. I can only get a “feel†from some of the individuals (I follow @tonysteward) and I found him via @human3rror (John Saddington). These two are passionate developer types, and I am impressed with what they are into. My first exposure to the pastoral side was via http://courageous.tv/, where the Atlanta flood relief was front and center. Interviews I saw with Shaun King impressed me.
It looks like that there might be some theological differences from those, of a more, for lack of a better term, “Progressive†bent. But I want to know where the Open Source Social Media types are within “mainliners†and among those who are apt to be a bit more critically discerning (not rejecting, but careful and critical). This group is the first I have seen that pull out all the stops and know the technologies and set about building them around a church community. Now what kind of church community we are and want to “publish†and “stream†and “tweet†online is never going to be an issue if we aren’t there in the first place.
I think we have a bunch to learn from these people. John, Tony, Pastor Shaun, I salute you. I admire you. I hope we can learn from you.
