I added a WP plugin yesterday that gives users a way to use their Facebook, Twitter, or Google login to comment on my blog. Frank Paynter signed up in my WordPress user signup previously required to comment, and told me it was a bit of a chore to do so. I’m glad he told me. I hadnot realized there was such a problem. Hopefully now I have removed a big hurdle that may have been preventing comments thus far.
The plugin is JanRain RPX and is a pretty easy install
(Update : 737pm…..seems there is a problem with Chrome browsers and this plugin……see my comment in the comments section)
cool info i like to connect my wordpress sites to social media
Facebook + chrome works ok for me. Using Chrome 13.0.782.112
test
I did a Google search for Facebook/Twitter log ins and your blog post showed up. Twitter works fine and took all of three seconds. Hope I can get something similar working on my own site.
I like this "intensedebate" comment system. Its free, right? Is it somehow connected to JanRain RPX or did you replace it with "intensedebate"? Just testing…
Its free for now but the fact it needs a api key to function on the janrain server makes me suspicious and what happens if that server goes down too many If's for my liking
FB Worked……….. Thanks dude. I was googling this from morning to find a solution.
on chrome logged in with twitter, this plugin is sweet!
not working with IE 🙁
Twitter seems to work 😉
Seems to work. Thanks.
It good but login process take time with different step. There should one box appear for login to Facebook, twitter or gmail….
Not sure I get your meaning. There is one box or section to select which login , once you click “Comment”
