And our most deadly silence of all? Continuing on with our present course of energy and ecological practices of the status quo of our civilization without any attempts toward a determinative effort to move to a new way of living on this earth.
MLK appeared on the world stage with the Montgomery Bus Boycott and then the Civil Rights Movement, followed by, in the years ahead, opposition to Vietnam and the Poor People’s Campaign. Had he lived longer, it seems very likely that his vision for Beloved Community would have highlighted the need for humans to see the interconnectedness of all things on earth, and the call of humanity to seek justice for all by deciding NOT to wreak any more havoc on our habitat and ecosystem.
