Tea Partiers Say Net Neutrality Hurts Freedom //of course they do!

The following is soooo typical:

According to one tea partier involved in the effort, the movement is opposing net neutrality because "it’s an affront to free speech and free markets."

Tea Partiers Say Net Neutrality Hurts Freedom | TPMDC

The coalition recently sent a letter to the FCC calling on the government agency to keep its hand off the Internet.

But it’s just fine to allow corporations (carriers,  in this instance) to grab it with their money-grubbing hands and attempt to remold it into the cash cow THEY want.

For crying out loud, people,  FREE MARKET is US,  not corporations,  or at least it should be.   In most cases,  I don’t trust either corporations OR “the public” to DO THE RIGHT THING.  This kind of thing is why.  Because people are gullible in the grasp of the corporations.  They deny that they are being played by a socializing force.  And so they parrot this stuff,  shoveled to them by the machine.   The “anti net-neutrality” folks don’t even understand the issue.  They simply latch on to the inane blather telling them to “tell the government to get out of the way”.  They defend BP because the government should stay out of the way and companies don’t need to be accountable because that’s the “government getting in the way”.  They rail against health care because that’s a “government take over” and we have the “best health care in the world” (confusing health technology and expertise  with implementation of health care systems).  Now they oppose Net Neutrality (they think) because this is “yet another place where government doesn’t belong”).  To them,  public advocacy is “socialism”.

People, listen to those in your own party who actually have a clue about the Internet.  The people I know who are the staunchiest of staunch Republicans but who also happen to have experience with the Internet and communication are FOR Net Neutrality.  So quit being such parrots.  Talk to people who actually know what this is and what this means.  Shut up until you do.
