The Missing Sharlet interview back up on Sojo blog

Jeff Sharlet comments on the “restored” post on God’s Politics blog,  which had disappeared over this past weekend,  as Sharlet explains below….I was wondering what was up when the Jesus Manifesto blog,  where I first found this story,  was referring to the fact that the interview had been taken down.

I think it’s important that readers know that this interview disappeared over the weekend because a God’s Politics editor, by his own account responding to complaints from a friend, decided to throw it down the memory hole. That’s an insult not just to me, but to the interviewer, the readers, and the basic principles of journalism. If you think you’ve published something factually inaccurate, correct it. If you’ve published something you disagree with, balance it with something else. But disappearing? I think even my friends on the far right would be troubled by that. Fortunately, the editor came to his senses and restored the post. I remain deeply unsettled at this small encounter with censorship, and in a forum I’ve respected for so long.
