Gran Torino

One of the best movies I’ve seen in a while.  I saw it a week ago yesterday.  It was funny and even more profound.  I don’t want to spoil the ending for you,  but the way it ends is the power of this film,  and a fitting ending to what is already a great story of two cultures of people coming to know each other.  I’ll have to rent this one when it comes out on video,  since I missed quite a few lines as people in the theater weren’t finished laughing at a previous line.  Eastwood shows us his greatest complexities in this story,  from the rough, scowling, cynical character of Walt Kolowski to the person he proves himself to be at the end.
