Titans Stink

They’re 7 and 6,  against what looks to me to be the weakest schedules in the NFL.  They’re struggling offensively against the 31st ranked Chiefs defense.  And they are nauseatingly conservative already,  after moving down the field with absolute ease on their first possession.

They just allowed the chiefs to convert a 3rd and 14 on a 7 yard play and then a 4th and 7 conversion to a first down.  After a fumbled punt,  a Titan falls on the ball with no Chiefs around him,  and 3 Titans standing over him,  and curls up around the ball, instead of getting up and running with his two blockers into the end zone,  a place where Titan’s red zone offense has an  abysmal record at finding. Can’t we give them a hand and run in a fumbled punt?

The Titans trail at halftime.  They suck.  Jeff Fisher has squandered and flushed down the toilet a golden opportunity this year to at least make it to the playoffs.  I have no idea why they took Vince Young if they had no intention of opening up their offense “just a little”.  They’ve tried to run it down people’s throats, and have had a pathetic offense as a result,  because Lindale White is not the answer.

Their only stellar play this year (the thing that gave everybody hope for this team’s chances) was that of their smothering defense, anchored by Haynesworth and Vanden Bosch, in their first 8 games.

Update:  They won 26-17,  but evenif they get the help they need and get in the playoffs,  they’ll play New England first,  whom they will not outscore.  Of course,  anything can happen.  Both Philly and Baltimore almost pulled it off,  so anything CAN happen.
