I’ve been watching this since these issues became bigtime in Congress a couple of years ago.  The recent Comcast clamp-down on Torrent traffic has brought this back into focus for me (not that I’m anywhere close to being anything close to a heavy Torrent downloader (I think I’ve downloaded a total of about a dozen since I first discovered it,  and in every case it was to see an episode of LOST, House,  or The West Wing that I had just missed).

Anyway:

The Chronicle of Higher Education’s The Wired Campus daily email reports that computer scientists have formed the squad and are enlisting Internet users’ support:

A group of technology experts, some with ties to academe, has formed a Network Neutrality Squad to ferret out, analyze, and report discriminatory behavior by telecommunications companies. The group is also hoping to deter companies that might consider blocking or manipulating Internet traffic to favor preferred customers or affiliated entities.
