This further disturbs me about Tennesseans (I began to be disturbed when they chose Bush over Gore, then went for the downright filthy classless campaign of Corker against Ford, and now this. They’re voting for the Law and Order guy, not the clueless politician that has virtually NOTHING out there about where he stands. And Guliani? The lack of depth of this electorate stuns me. These "values" voters allow the LACK of support for their chosen causes (ie abortion) to be outbid by the "I’ll keep you safe" BS. If they won’t stand up against abortion, then by damn at least they’ll bomb the hell out of anybody that threatens us. That puts them on the plus side.
(BTW, I ‘ve ordered Naomi Klein’s The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism on the recommendation of Dan here, which explores the use of social/national trauma as "openings" for enterprising national entities to take advantage of the vulnerability of the populace. They’re still working their magic (aka "demonic influence") in the good ol’ USA.
Anyway, the aforementioned polls
