A Long Month

I’ve had a long month in many ways.  The first couple of weeks was my son’s last high school days,  and lots of anxiety on my part about finishing well (he did….I was a real tool to worry about it….he did a 4.0 for the final six weeks and a 3.8 for the semester,  and finished 3.08 for the high school career).  he also had a fractured metatarsel (toe) bone and wasn’t being very conscientious about staying off of it.  That turned out fine too,  as he got a clean bill and was able to start going regular shoe instead of that walking cast/boot that he had to wear for about 6 weeks.

Then the graduation last Saturday.  I officially feel old now, with a son headed to college,  and my 51st birthday this past week.  My son got me a big button that sits on the desk that has a big “WORRY” with a line through it,  and when pressed,  plays the tune “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”.  I got a chuckle from that.
