50 years (and counting?) of “overdue due diligence” on Climate Crisis

Global warming debate now is a result of at least 50 years of governmental failure to act on available scientific data. World scientists have recognized the CO2 emissions problem for longer than that, and do we treat this with the same level of caution and care as we do, say, FDA or Medical science? No.

We allow it to be politicized by financial interests with insane levels of profit that they then use to pour money into keeping us in doubt so that we do not act. Most of all, so that we shove aside all suggestions that we have entered into an era of profound ecological devastation that will continue to roll in upon us with increasing velocity and consequence.

All we can do now is avoid making it worse, and hope that sometime soon, we will ease the burden of those who will face future consequences decades down the road. How long will it take, and how much will we have to see happening before our eyes, before most of us decide that it is time for a change?
