61% choose taxing the rich over the “other options”.  It was also the MOST PREFERRED option of the rich themselves (those making over 100k even though it only affects those making over 250k),  by a full 20 percentage points.  So ,  Mainstream media,  how about doing your job and asking GOP people who say “the American people are against raising taxes” about this poll?  The GOP ‘s “American people” must be only those rich (of course,  we knew that already). 

Perhaps not surprisingly, those with higher incomes were less inclined to say increasing taxes on the wealthy would be the best option. Nevertheless, as many as 46 percent of Americans making more than $100,000 said it was the best option — 26 points higher than the next-preferred option, cutting defense spending.
