Christians called to keeping Creation

I shared this post from Shane yesterday, but another area where “Christians” need converting is to the notion that Christians are called to be participants in “keeping” Creation (and the word “to keep” there is the same as the one used in one of the very next Genesis stories: “Am I my brother’s keeper”). Late 20th and early 21st century Christians have lost this Genesis calling, the very first calling from God upon humanity.

This is certainly a needed and necessary conversion that is vital to the church’s mission. Life abundant is life as it was meant to be; as it was created to be. It is an interdependent, interrelated body; as the word eco is derived from oiko which is “household”, our “home” is the ground upon which our family resides. To be “family” and “pro-life” is to look after the full house of Creation.
