War is Good for Armageddon

Pastor John expresses outrage over the “Christian” lobby for war in the Middle East; this so-called “theology of the end times”.

Pastor John Wright
conservative evangelicals Christians in North America have mobilized to lobby for increasing the violence, and legitimating the violence. They seem to think that violence involving the state of Israel (very different from the Jews and the biblical Israel — English translations of the Greek word “ethnos” into the English “nation” has done nothing but caused mischief for they are very different types of political entities) is an incubation ritual to force Jesus’ return. Protestant Christians remain the United States chief warmongers — all statistical data shows this. Their acceptance of the liberal nation-state and US/Israeli exceptionalism continues to cast an embarassing shadow over the world wide Christian witness. History will show this nearly as big of a scandal for Christian witness as the Deutsche Kirke in the first half of the 20th century.

The “Deutsche Kirke”, is the Nazi Church. Yes, the majority of “Christians” in Germany were complicit with the Nazi handling of the church. How little people learn from history, and how much hubris folllowing generations have in believing that WE will never “fall for such a thing”. We have the advantage of hindsight. If you suggested the Nazi Church was any sort of questionable compromise, you would have been branded “anti-German”, much as people are branded “anti-American” today by suggesting that the church should take precedence over nation; or suggesting that nationalism and faithfulness do not come into conflict.
