Joining God’s Dream

Wonderful post from Kayla over at inward/outward, the daily meditation blog coming from the Church of the Saviour communities. I especially like the descriptions: “immersing ourselves in whatever pieces of creation-mending are the right pieces for us” and “become sane in the midst of insanity”

Joining God’s Dream at inward/outward
we now find ourselves standing against all that is not with God. Against, mostly, the culture of a world that tugs at us fiercely, stubbornly. As deeply embedded as we are in this culture’s ways, as much as we slip and slide in our struggle to disentangle from it, we are now free in our struggle because we have found our true home in God.

What happens, as Gordon Cosby likes to say, is that we become sane in the midst of insanity. We step into the Real World from an unreal world. We are brought into our right mind, and God’s secret longing is revealed to us: that we will rise to our true callings in life to become healers, justice-seekers, lovers of all.

We join God’s dream, secret no more, to become co-creators of the beloved community, immersing ourselves in whatever pieces of creation-mending are the right pieces for us, using our particular strengths and gifts, as well as our weaknesses, our unspoken longings and desires and fears.
