I disagree with Jim Wallis on this.

Glenn Beck can do better. Fox News can do better. When it comes to upholding truth and having civil dialogues, let’s be honest, we all can do better.

I don’t think Fox News can do better,  because then they would move toward being NEWS and not just the posers as news that they are now and have been since their inception.  This kind of thing is their most overt expression of their purpose: to raise any kind of doubt,  using any kind of distortions,  in an intentional, planned manner,  for as long as it takes.  I get the impression that legitimate news stories are the kind of thing they don’t want to “have to cover”,  since it “distracts” them from their preferred content:  the continued raising of doubts about selected figures,  and the whipping up of any kind of fear and prejudice they can in order to raise enough public opposition to derail whatever it is they’re determined to defeat. 

So,  NO, Jim,  I don’t think they CAN because they don’t want to;  it would defeat their purpose.
