Thanks to Alan Bevere for finding this.  I made a comment there bouncing off of one of the previous comments.  The comment seems to have missed Hauerwas’ insistence here that the Church is the memory and the bestowers of the traditions and of our identity,

Hauerwas is constantly reminding us that we are Pentecost people and “called out/ called together”.
