Leo is a little concerned about how Facebook is moving this a bit faster than the public can keep up with;  that we don’t really know what’s happening between Facebook and the sites we visit.

Scoble talks about the good in the features (ie with Facebook’s integration with Pandora—or Pandora’s use of the Facebook code that recognizes your Facebook login) here :   http://scobleizer.com/2010/04/25/an-inch-closer-to-the-end-of-privacy-thanks-facebook/

I have yet to see anyone say much re: Facebook’s new rollout of features that draw upon what they refer to as the "social graph". Many tech folks are sounding alarms about how Facebook is ever so gradually revealing our preferences and data by default.  Others are looking at the good they see in it, like Scoble in the link above.

There may be good and bad, but we(in the church) won’t benefit or protect ourselves from either unless we are aware of what these are and use this social network to help us navigate and fine tune our style of participation in the social networks.

This is why we in the church need some tech savvy and social network system-aware  folks to get us talking about the “theology” we need to develop re:  the issues of privacy,  communication,  and such.
