This is perhaps the scariest aspect of this whole pandemic for me, as I have family members involved in education, and am a lifelong devotee to quality and meaning and means of education. This push to “re-open” education is a carbon copy of the prior craze to “re-open America” and “get back to normal”. We are seeing dire consequences of rush to re-open, and now we want to subject our children and teachers to this? (and , via them, the rest of us as well).
