Keith Olbermann re-emphasizes,  as many are doing of late,  after the release of the Intelligence report (hat tip to Mike)

The Bush Administration did not try to get Osama Bin Laden before 9/11. The Bush Administration ignored all the evidence gathered by its predecessors. The Bush Administration did not understand the Daily Briefing entitled “Bin Laden Determined To Strike in U.S.” The Bush Administration… did… not… try.— Moreover, for the last five years one month and two weeks, the current administration, and in particular the President, has been given the greatest “pass” for incompetence and malfeasance, in American history!

Indeed.  He didn’t even try.  So full of themselves,  and so full of disdain for Clinton ,  they arrogantly and irresponsibly shrugged off;  DISMISSED the warnings,  mainly because THEIR REAL BUSINESS was to shave such “excess” off the top;  EXCESS such as things that require pragmatic study;  due diligence.  To the Bushies,  that is a distraction from their REAL BUSINESS of creating the loopholes and free passes for their back room buddies,  who hand out favors to the rich in order to further cement and accelerate the growth of the gap between the rich and the non-rich;  and so they IGNORED what didn’t concern them.  Bush went on vacation ,  where the August 6 PDB sat on his desk, with which noone wanted to “bother” Georgie boy. They do absolutely nothing, unless it is a part of the “cover” they construct with their own “intelligence”;  which means “intelligence’ that fits the “reality” THEY insist must be accepted,  lest we “aid and embolden the terrorists”. Words are increasingly inadequate to convey the disgust I feel for these criminals. BTW,  along with “The Great Giveaway”,  which is a wonderful book,  I am also reading “Hubris”,  which is a book of stories by two journalists (Michael Isikoff and David Corn) gathered from within the administration about the goings on in this pack of corruption that were their “plans” for deceiving the public;  their “Manufacturing of Consent”.
