Is this wrong?

Is it wrong for me to be more concerned about preserving unity with those to whom , in earlier days, I was in FULL agreement (ie. Sojourners) and now I am becoming aware of “language issues” and “ceding to the state” issues (ala Radical Orthodoxy) ….than I am about trying to bridge the gap between myself and those , say , in my own family with whom a much deeper chasm of theological assumptions exist?

Both issues are troubling. I don’t want to divide either side any further, but especially so the “side” I perceive myself to be on. At times, Radical Orthodoxy (ala James KA Smith’s polemics vs Jim Wallis) seems to be insitigating a more sophisitcated “culture war”, further drawing the line at what constitutes “ceding to the state” and what doesn’t. I don’t fear so much losing fellowship with some of my friends siding with RO, because I hope my respect and much indebtedness in my own journey is acknowledged from me to them. My concern lies with how much of a rift that causes with the others who are often categorized “progressives” (but I imagine RO-deluxe considers that to be a terminology baptized by the liberal nation state, which I can see, but I don’t want to start telling all my friends who identify themselves with “Progressive Christianity” that they are being Constantinian.
