The previous post I ended with saying how thanksful I am for the blogs and how I have found a community of support, of dialogue, and hope for the Church. In the face-to-face Church where I live, these conversations are either not welcome, or feared for their “danger of division” (ie “scaring away members”).
Mike James, Eric, Brad, Tim Bednar, and many more whom I am still discovering, are my “small group” whom I watch for in my RSS feeds. There are many more “not-explicitly Christian” blogs that I welcome into my “theologically centnered” dialolgue becasue they express more of the concerns for the impact of the Bush administration’s impact on PEOPLE than many of the Churches and “Christian personlaities” do— and this is extremely sad, and frankly, infuriating. The idea of peace and the idea of justice and all those “other” Christian values are tossed out the window in most “Christian” discussion of politics today, which is dominated by extremely shallow and “truncated” Biblical analysis.
