Good and great things in the works

The post below is to say , “Sorry I haven’t been around here much”,  but also to say that as soon as things begin going up,  one of the first features to be integrated into the framework is Weblogs.

We’ve already signed ourselves up at Type Pad to play around with some of those features (I’m still looking for Movable Type Pro,  which I thought was due out this summer— what’s the ETA on that?  As a developer,  and one who plans on doing a lot of integration with data and other “Web technologies”,  including .Net and Flash (via Actionscript),  I will want to be customizing quite a bit.  I haven’t given up on finding a .Net and/or a DotNetNuke powered Weblog server app.  I’ve tried installing DotText ,  but seem to run into roadblocks.  It’s not exactly a user-friendly install,   even for a “reasonably competent” level developer like me.

We are also about to receive our copy of Studio MX 2004 (I’ve been using the Trial Copy — 10 days left,  but we should get ours within the week).  OK,  so more on this later as time permits.  Just know that I’m in the midst of a push to do a LOT of stuff over the next week,  but it’s unique in that this time it’s not such a “draining” time like most “deadline rushes” are, but is filled with anticipation,  excitement,  and the great feeling that others have caught some of the sense of “what could be” from some of the things I have articulated about online community, weblogging,  Web technology,  and the call to converse with the online world.

In keeping with the description/mission of Old Saint George (“A Great Good Place for Community and Spirtual Renewal”), the title of this post could have been “Great Good Things in the Works”)
