In Eric’s post yesterday for Chapter 3 of his journey through “The Cost Of Discipleship”, Eric paraphrases Bonhoeffer on taking Jesus literally :

Bonhoeffer concludes that the commandments of Jesus must always include a literal interpretation because our aim is not to set up a law, but to proclaim Christ.
And yet it seems that so many Americans who read Cost Of Discipleship in smallgroup Bible Studies take what Bonhoefer said and what Jesus said and apply that “rationalization squirm” to it.
