When I first read Journey Outward, Journey Outward in 1976 at the age of 20, I was so moved (and still am, but then it was my first exposure to the level of commitment and sacrifice required to do something that changes the world somehere).

I also remember the sense of hope I had then that this was the meaning and intended practice of Church I wanted to find and express in my life. I sense that I am a bit disillusioned about how the Church today can come to that point.

I mentioned Harbinger’s post earlier, and how his suggestions were in keepiing with the kind of ecclesiology practice forwarded by the Church of the Saviour. I forgot to mention in that link that Harbinger also lists the Church of the Saviour in his sidebar links, so that influence is certainly there, and no surprise that Harbinger , like me, cannot “shake” that sense of Church (not that we want to).
