KOS has a good discussion going under his posting of Suskind’s NYTimes article I link to in the previous post. There are, of course, some who show contempt for “Faith-based” talk, which doesn’t bother me, except to the degree that it has been “hijacked” by the Bush/Rove/Ashcroft/Delay/Falwell mentality (or Post-Diulio faith-based intiative). People forget that some of this “faith-based” talk and movement began under Clinton, who discussed this quite a bit with Tony Campolo (who would have made a great director and advocate of Faith-based initiatives, but probably not under this administration— unless he could have won them over….but I do not see that as being likely; the “dogmas” of Bush and his cronies (or his “Brain” Karl Rove) would not be swayed (since, you know how GW “has his mind made up”.) Campolo would probably suffer the same fate as Diulio.
