More “Compassionate Conservatism”

“Non military non-homeland spending is at 1% instead of 15%” Bush said proudly. You know where that “cut” came from…..education, health care, environmental policy apparatus (replaced by buy-offs and bonuses and other untold favors by companies hot-to-trot to get environmental regulations relaxed and or removed, health and safety expenditures cut and/or removed (again, aided and abetted by companies hot on the trail of regulatory relaxations)

Bush just skipped over a direct question from the moderator about how to cut the deficit in half — “Look at the budget” ….as if that was the plan to cut the deficit. Why can’t the moderator stop them and say “Just answer the question please”.

Bush can’t respond with anything but what his script is, and it hasn’t changed in 4 years.

Now he’s talking about his environmental policies. He’s basically saying “Cut more of them down so we don’t have as many fires, so we gotta harvest ’em. ”

One of the worst administrations for the environment in history.

If we had joined KYOTO it would have cost jobs. (What he means is that his pet corporations would throw a fit because theie profits would be lowered because of this. Bush’s policy is NO PLOICY, and to REMOVE safeguards. Bush said he’s “waiting” until the drugs are safe before he okays the import of drugs from Canada, and yet his record is not

Medical Liability Reform is Bush’s number one plan element (although this is only 1% of the total health care cost picture, but it’s all Bush can addres, because that keeps him in the good graces of the medical professionals and the health organizations that have continued to skyrocket costs.)

Encourages conservation, encourages environmentally safe sources of energy. All outright deception. All indicators show that BUsh does nothing but hand over the care of the environment to former players in those very industries that the regulations were destigned to protect us against.

Quality of the air is cleaner since he became president is an ouright LIE. It is unequivacobly NOT cleanere. It is worse, and they don’t want to stop there.

I think the environment is probably the thing Bush is the worst at, by far. He called himself a “good steward of the land” or something, trying to invoke biblical language, and it is, if anything, the furthest from the truth on anything he’s ever said.
