Highly and Deeply Recommended: Journey Inward, Journey Outward

Pastor Draven links to subvergence » journey inward, journey outward, talking about the amazing relevance of a book written in 1968, describing the first 20 years of The Church of the Saviour in Washington , DC.

This book describes a church that truly understood what it meant to be missional. The amazing thing is, they were doing things 40 years ago that most of us only see in our most idealistic moments. Here are several quotes from the book, all of which I think speak pretty well for themselves

I have a complete copy of Servant Leaders, Servant Structures by Elizabeth O’Connor online on my old website — The author herself told me she thought it would be wonderful to have it online when I asked her back in 1996, on a visit to COS. Gordon Cosby later wrote me a letter thanking me for all the information and stories about COS’s impact on me that I had put online. I still have that letter tucked away somewhere. But feel free to comment. (Maybe I should “blog it” and put it in this section, so comments and trackbacks can be applied)
