Give Peace a Chance

This is why Christians should vote for Kerry. Under Bush, with his apparent devotion to imperial prowess and his baptism by the neocons as the “ambassador for new markets” (see the article I was quoting from last night, Baghdad Year Zero ) , he will stop at nothing, including inviting the masses whom are the “beneficiairies” of our “democratization” to become increasingly willing to fight back.

Under Bush, peace has no chance to “invade” the United States government administrations. The health and well being of the people of this country are not a match for the determination of the Bush administraiton to allow, encourage, and enable the irresponsible, exploitative, profit-seeking gutting of the public protections put in place over the years to keep corporations from endangering the public health and welfare. Bush and his neocons want to “privatize” EVERYTHING.

There is more, MUCH more to morality than abortion issues, prayer in schools, and gun rights. If people think that an increasingly insecure world, massive casualties being inflicted and sustained by American forces, won’t push these “issues of platform” deep into the background, they’re living in fantasy land.

Remember, the number of abortions actually increase under Republican presidents because they create these horrible economic conditions (the poor get poorer, the middle class get poorer, the rich get richer) that make it so that many women abort their baby because they really do feel like there is “no other choice.”

On Bush’s morality: His agenda, as well as the neocon agenda, is to twist and distort the words of the Gospel from “Do unto others as you would have them do to you” into “Do unto others before they do it to you.”

It really is a kind of cult.

(I didn’t make up that revelation, btw: Willie Nelson wrote a song for Dennis Kucinich with that line in it, and he was purely brilliant for his truth-telling)
