Unbelievable. Who was that administration who ignored Richard Clarke all during the first nine months of the Bush Administration’s reign? Who was it? Who could it be? Could it be…………..The Bushies?
If Kerry were elected, Cheney said the nation risks falling back into a “pre-9/11 mind-set” that terrorist attacks are criminal acts that require a reactive approach. Instead, he said Bush’s offensive approach works to root out terrorists where they plan and train, and pressure countries that harbor terrorists.
Now isn’t that special?
The fact is that quite a lot of conservatives actually do want us to fall back to this pre-9/11 mindset. We would welcome those who would push us back. Supposedly the tight hold on the past is a mark of conservatives, but not in the Bush camp.
Only the most Orweilian of governments would want to remain permanently under a state of war with all of the war powers enabled indefinitely.
