I mentioned last night how some people have said that “voting against Bush” instead of FOR your candidate is such a bad, pessimistic thing. Well, no, it’s not. When one considers that democracy is absolutely under assult by big money, neo-conservative militarism, and even “Christian theocratic fundamentalists” in our own country. Also, one can safely say that the President is much less dangerous or effective than his administration in actually achieving (or ruining) whatever it is their policy aims are. I think that this is more true today than it ever has been, when one considers how very low this president is in the historical graph of Presidentia intellect. It’s that administration (along with him) that MUST GO, for the sake of the democracy that , yes, our FOUNDERS intended. This is, as Dean says, not about the candidates, but about US…..it’s as Obama said, The UNITED STATES of America. It’s about lifting up the CONVERSATION again. It’s about Taking Back our Democacy. That’s far from pessimistic. That is my HOPE, and I pray for it, and pray that I can be used to enable it in the most far-reaching way possible.
