Finding and Particpating in the Conversation

I feel a bit “detached” right now, not because I have to have my “techno-fix”, but because the “connectivity” I sense I am missing is to the conversation I have with these “Feeds” and the emails, to people with whom I accustomed to communicating via these “electronic pathways”. If there were a physical meeting place with all of the elements I seek and find online, then I would take the trouble to get cleaned up and travel to that place. But there is not such a physical place. I would that God would lead me to something of a place that I would call a Church home, but I have not yet found such a place, and so , for me, online is the closest thing. There are real people, real ideas, and real comradeship in our writing and dialoging about the things we all care about; about the seeking and experiencing of human communityu; of taking part in the “conversation” (there’s that Cluetrain concept again).

I’m writing all this in a WORD document, which I haven’t had open at home in I don’t know how long. I usually write in my browser based editor for my Movable Type blog. I wonder if there is a “blog This” for Word, so that I can “send” this document into my blog software as a post when I regain connectivity (still OFF, as of 9:30 am …..90 minutes now……Saturday is the worst day for this, as I was saying earlier, since I am not having to go to work (I am so thankful to have “weekends” again, and “Fridays” at work……when I was looking for work, there were no weekends; no “rest” from a week of work…it was all anxiety about the future, and anxiously eye-ing the finances…..now I look forward to the Saturdays where I can get up whenver I want, make a pot of coffee, and check email and the News via online RSS.

My Dad has commented, in “aside” comments, that I get all my crazy ideas from reading stuff “on the Internet”, which he says with a disdain and a dismissal of everything associated. But he is unaware of the type of content that is available. And, as other Cluetrain notions tell me, there is as much “authority” there once one has “filtered” and “chosen” where to go and get one’s knowledge and opinion; By choosing Blogs or websites that are “recommended” by others who share similar interests, I find an online community, and updates that contain all the accumulated research of all those who share similar interests.
