Speaking MY Mind

The previous entry announcing my acquistion of Campolo’s new book is big for me becuase I’m having a great deal of difficulty lately finding the community of believers who believe in actually pursuing peace rather than takling the word of the rest of the world in believing that we truly achiev peace through exacting the same means as that we are fighting against. I am so fed up with a Church that has sold out to culture. There are a couple of Churches here in Nashville that talk the right talk and walk some good walk, but are far away from us; I want a community to include some of gthe friends of my children, and have a lively youth program. I am nostalgic and envious, on my son’s behalf, of a Youth Program like I had when Mel Doughty was my Youth Minister, a group that exposed me to The Church of the Saviour, Clarence Jordan, the Serendipity movement (a part of the lay renewal movement of the 70’s), and an extremely close knit group of youth. We’re going to visit Edgehill tomorrow, who have gotten a new pastor who I’d like to hear, and say hi to everybody.
