No WMD’s, so how smart is this?

So, we keep hearing Bush and Cheney say they KNOW that Iraq has WMD’s…and also, we don’t know where they are …..so……how smart is this occupation of Iraq? If Saddam hustled them away, to a location heretofore unknown, how is our occupation of Iraq going to stop them from using them? It only, accoprding to a scenario that I have cookied up that makes just as much sense, makes it more likely that they will point them at us or an ally and finally use them. If this is what we are “going in” to deter or prevent, it is obviously doomed to fail.

My question is also this: If we as Christians say we live “according to the golden rule” (Do unto others as you WOULD HAVE THEM DO UNTO YOU) then we must ask: If we or our own family were in Iraq, living as many Iraqi’s do ( (ie.: in harms way of our “operations”), then would we approve of this strategy, knowing that a fightening proportion of people in these regions will die? And for the sake of “preemption” of something that “we think will probably happen” if we don’t? Would we stake the lives of ourt family on the “theories” of the military, and trust the military when they say that they will “keep this collateral damage to a minimum? And will we hear the words “collateral damage” as impersonally and “sanitized” as they are intended to convey, keeping all talk of DEATH and tragedy out of the picture for the sake of the goal of “operational success”?
