Now that I’ve got dottext running, and anticipate being “into” it (unless something better comes along), I now have blog content scattered over 3 blogs. Most of my longer articles are in my Radio blog , with copies of all the regular posts over in my Movable Type blog, which still has links over to the Radio blog. Now, with my success in getting dottext running up on my ISP (webhost4life), and it (dottext) being a .Net -basded system, a system with which which I want to become more “at home”, and it being a Windows based, XML-aware and Office-integratable (at least one would think so), I anticipate it being my choice for integration into the Old Saint George Web upgrade. That means…..
That means I ‘ll need to find tools to move posts from MT over to dotText, and (need I even hope?) something to help me get the stories from Radio over as well. Movable Type is nice, but I just can’t imagine getting comfortable enough with all that PERL stuff, and have to use MySQL instead of SQLServer. I like the OpenSource movement and believe in it, but I am so much of a “Windows” veteran, and see so much Developer Community growing up around .Net (and already feel SOOO behind!), and so this is an opportunity to try and get my arms around this to the fullest extent that I can.

I found your post at http://weblogs.asp.net/jblizzard/posts/28484.aspx after searching for http://www.google.com/search?num=50&hl=en&lr=lang_en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&newwindow=1&safe=off&q=dottext+allowDefinition&btnG=Google+Search and see that you got it up and running. Can you tell me how?
Erik,
I posted an article at http://theoblogical.org/dt/blog/posts/193.aspx describing what I did (in response to your comment here). Hope it works for you. I had made another boo-boo in spite of it all that kept mine from working (I copied the root web.config over the admin/web.config somehow…when I uploaded a new original version of web.config into the admin dir, all worked (but I had followed the procedure as described inthe article)
