Waiting for some Flash demos

I’m up in the OSG East tower again the first half of this week during the day, trying to set up for some collaborative work with Larry on some of the Web structure we want to set up. Yesterday, we looked for long misplaced folders on the network that contain the assets (pictures and text and ppt files and ai files to convert to Web-friendly information.

This morning I brought in the external hard drive connectors I left behind yesterday, but forgot my Mouse to my PC, having left it on the computer desk up at tyhe in-laws when I unhooked it last night to be ready to bring in this morning. Really makes me hanker after a laptop, but I’m afraid that’s a long way from happening at the moment, but it sure woudl be nice to have a laptop on which I could run Studio MX, SQL Server, and IIS (and even add some firewire and video editing software along with an external hard drive) so all my “travel stuff” could be completely portable. Just about any laptop these days would be as beefy and capable , if not more, than my present E_machines 1.5 GHz desktop which doesn’t have enough space to properly hold 2 hard drives, a CDRW and a DVDRW.

Anyway, today it is rainy (third straight Cincinnati trip where this has happened), and I have my periodic bout with the discomfort of the “roids”. Add to that the delays in “getting going” here today, and I am a bit testy at the moment, but look forward to a good time of showing Larry the Flash MX 2004 interface and some of the capablilities it has.

I hope to see soon some signs of a Blog-Flash integration, or discover different ways of combining Flash’s ability to partake of and talk “data” with databases and XML, with Weblogs we want to set up here.
