DaveNet : Real-time weblogs

Dave Winer describes and analyzes the “Blogging Events and Conferences” phenomena. This has become a recent “fascination” with me, even though I’ve never done it myself (at least LIVE I haven’t). The instance I’m thinking of is when I went to hear AKMA and David Weinberger at Vanderbilt. Both of them were live blogging at times, but I had to wait until I got home, where I posted a few thoughts and uploaded my picture I took of the two of them. I posted a few more things over ther next several days, and all of that actually started me on a larger, “extended” blog as I began re-reading Smalll Pieces, Loosely Joined, and reading JOHO and AKMA much more often than I had been.

It all seems to be moving me toward a “Story” (Radio’sname for a longer, article-type post) about this subject; about how Blogging Events, from LIVE style , to “review” style shortly after the event, to the “extended” conversation that often results as people begin bouncing off one another’s Weblogs and creating that special sense that , so far, only Weblogs seem to be able to do.
