WordPress 2.1.1 update fixes Live Writer Image uploads (NOT)

The WordPress upgrade to 2.1.1 fixed the Live Writer problem!  Excellent I spoke too soon.  The postings work,  the RSSproblems solved,  but the image uploads still have problems.  It seems like images are constantly causing problems,  and the image that gets uploaded (even though an error happens,  and the post does not go up,  the image still seems to be Continue Reading

WordPress 2.1.1 update fixes Live Writer Image uploads

The WordPress upgrade to 2.1.1 fixed the Live Writer problem!  Excellent. BTW,  just in case you were wondering ,  that ‘s Dietrich Bonhoeffer on the left. (I just grabbed a picture from my MyPictures folder) Besides,  this makes my blog look more ‘theological” during this flurry of technical/blogospherical posts. (update: not so fast…….the image I uploaded yesterday went in fine,  Continue Reading

WordPress Errors

There’s something up with the XML writing in WordPress.  My RSS feed has a mysterious blank line on line 1,  causing validation problems. Windows Live Writer is also broken,  with errors like Invalid Server Response: The response to the metaWeblog.newPost method received from the weblog server was invalid. MY site was moved on Sunday from a Win2000 server to a Windows 2003 Continue Reading

WordPress 2.1 and LiveWriter errors

I just noticed the image upload for wp 2.1 from Live writer is broken. I uploaded an image to my blog (or tried) for the first time since Jan 26, when I upgraded to 2.1, and got the following error: Invalid Server Response (with red X) and in the message box: The response to the metaWeblog.newMediaObject method received from the Continue Reading

WordPress, Movable Type, Community Server

I have been playing with Community Server (and before that, dotText) ever since 2003,  when I began a quest (which is still proceddding quite slowly) to learn dot Net (.Net).  We bought a license for it at work,  in anticipation of using it for several things.  Now it looks as though a group of developers that are related to our Continue Reading

JustBlogIt Errors

I have used a FirefoxPLugin for quite a while, called JustBlogIt. I’ve begun to ntice lately that when I use it now, the link to the original source that it creates is creating a link with http://myblog.org/%5C%22 tacked on to the actual source URL, and a %5C%22 tacked onto the end. Anybody know what’s up with that? I just went Continue Reading

The Old and the New

I wish there was a way to link from , say,  my original post on my still reachable Movable Type blog (which is now archive of my present blog on WordPress, into which I have  imported all the prior MT posts …..but  to people who arrive at a particular blog post via the original Movable Type link,  I wish there Continue Reading

Insert Content from Amazon Tool

I just started using this WordPress Plugin that is a great tool …..the concept is the greatest thing….the bugs need a little massaging , however (there are a few glitches, like it failing to post the generated code back into the actual WP post…I have to cut and paste. That’s still an advantage over doing all this outside of WordPress…..the Continue Reading

K2 Theme here isn’t IE6 friendly

This K2 theme isn’t an IE6 friendly theme, so I ‘m looking for fixes (it makes the sidebar fall to the bottom in IE – Firefox is fine) Since my default browser is Firefox, I just noticed this today. Crap! I installed Lush, but not sure I like it, so it’s K2 for now. (Tried several suggestions, but none worked)
