Desktop PC troubles with Webcam drivers?

Our “family desktop PC” (really MY computer on MY desk,  but it tends  to become the commandeered / confiscated computer to play Paradise Island on Facebook by some unnamed spousal intruder.

Over the past month,  the Blue Screen has been visiting us frequently.  Last week when the computer started sounding some onerous beeps like it  knew it was saying something important, but  it did not make sufficient sense to us,  except to suggest hardware problems.  I noticed the fan vents were caked with dust.  So I got rid of all that,  opened the case and sucked out  quite a bit more dust,  and then the beeping stopped,  but the blue screens continued.  I ran across a “Problem Reports and Solutions” app,  and “View problem history” in the left column listed several instances of “MSCamSvc”  “Service Hang Reports” with regularity during the aforementioned month of Blue Screens.  I noticed the MS Webcam was unplugged from the USB report.  I plugged it back in (and had previously uninstalled a half dozen apps I no longer or have ever used)  and then rebooted.  It seems faster,  and I played some streaming video,  have been running Tweetdeck on it for a couple of hours,  and so far so good.  I guess later on my wife will be asking if she can give Paradise  Island a whirl.  So we’ll see what a happens.
