Obama’s numbers better than Reagan’s after 2 years #ReaganMustHaveBeenWorstEver @jonathanbrink

This post by Andrew Sullivan (HT to @jonathanbrink’s tweet)

Doing eleven points better in the Gallup poll at this point in his first term than the Gipper was. More data here. Skepticism warranted on the recent bump up – but Obama has now been trending above Reagan’s numbers for months now.

No Reagan – The Daily Dish | By Andrew Sullivan

I have another thought on this.  Did the conservatives look back to the situation Reagan inherited from Carter (not that I disagreed with Carter’s policies…he had his own watch polluted by the S&L scandal and the hostage crisis,  as well as his call for “responsibility and discipline” that had no chance vs Reagan’s “eat , drink and be merry” approach (which played much better).  But the point here is that now the conservative crazies are blaming Obama and ignoring the Bush years’ “hosting” of the swamp in which all this economic free-for-all corruption happened.  No,  in this case,  all of this is “Obama’s doing”.  (And not that I have  been happy with what Obama has done.  I have been disappointed in many ways,  but he inherited a HUGE MESS.  And to give Bush a pass (and with it,  the GOP ‘s irresponsible opposition to much of ay regulation,  and their insane insistence,  even now,  that “the market” should still be trusted.

as for my hashtag #ReaganMustHaveBeenWorstEver,  that was sarcasm highlighting the Noboma people’s complete insistence that Obama was never the right choice and that failure was the only option for their PRE-assesment.
