There is certainly a big difference between the outright Climate Change denial of the Right, and the “Climate CRISIS denial” of the Left.
The former is simply capitulation to the economic status quo (which gets taught to them by “social osmosis” via their “auto-import” of GOP politics, which is motivated by the GOP’s dependence on Fossil fuel money. The Christian Right has long been in collaboration with “Structural Evil”, but their individualist piety/spirituality blinds them to this)
The latter, the “Left” pays lip service to “believing the science” and expending a lot of energy deriding the “ignorance of the Right with their “Denial”, but simply fails to heed the warnings of those same scientists whom they claim to “believe”, and proceed as if there really ISNT a Climate Crisis.
The mainstream Denominations are the Church representatives of such an approach. They continue to place very little emphasis on the Crisis, and continue on with “business as usual”, seeing no need for serious theological reformation of our theology (much of it happening SINCE that 1517 Reformation, which took hold even as the Industrial Revolution was beginning ; yea, was even a beneficiary of the processes in motion that led to that Industrial Revolution).
To fail to see the serious jeopardy under which we , the human race, have placed our present and future thriving, is a catastrophic failure.
