This is all good work, and obviously needed. But it seems well past time to start talking about , in these contexts, what we can do to help keep these floods and storms from getting much worse than they are already going to be. The more we avoid talking such proactive steps such as addressing Climate Change and ecological crisis, the more victims like this there will be. Let’s not , as a church, be like the local weather reporters and keep “failing” to tie record breaking heat, record number occurrences of floods and extreme weather, to our continued refusal to address what we are doing to the ecosystem.
